Melrose DPW Upcoming Closures, Delays, Events, and Notifications

Attention Melrose Residents: In observance of the upcoming holidays, the City Yard and DPW offices will be closed on the following dates:

-Monday December 25, 2023

-Tuesday December 26, 2023

-Monday January 1, 2024

• There will be no trash or recycling collection on Monday 12/25/23 & Monday 1/1/24. Collection will be delayed by one day ONLY during those weeks (Monday’s route will be picked up on Tuesday; Tuesday’s route will be picked up on Wednesday; and so forth).

• Metal goods collection will be postponed from Tuesday 12/26 to Wednesday 12/27.

• The City Yard will be open for drop-off of recycling and yard waste on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week (12/27-12/29), to provide additional opportunities for residents to bring post-holiday recycling (cardboard, etc.) and late-season yard waste for composting.

Upcoming Events:

• Live Christmas Tree Curb Collection (1/2/24-1/12/24) — Place trees on curb on regular trash/recycling collection day. Live trees only. No trees in plastic bags, decorations, stands, or lights

• Post-Holiday and Styrofoam Recycling Event (Saturday 1/6/2024, 8 AM – 12 PM) — Stay tuned for more information on this event!
