10 ways to ‘shrink your waste’ this summer

Summer is a time for relaxing, fun in the sun and spending time with family.  Through the fun and busyness of the season, though, we often fall out of our  regular habits and routines.

Don’t let that happen with your trash and recycling this year. Keep  recycling correctly and maybe form some new habits by using the following  suggestions to “shrink your waste” this summer.

1. Remember to place your recyclables curbside. Separate recyclables  correctly; place plastic, glass and aluminum in one labeled bin and paper,  paperboard and cardboard in another labeled bin. Use your own bin or container  and place a free recycling sticker, available at the Public Works Operation  Facility, on it or get a free ‘Melrose Recycles’ bin also available at our  facility.
