On Wednesday, July 5, 2017, the City of Melrose DPW Water Division and its contractor Commonwealth Construction will be shutting down the water main to make repairs and upgrades to gate valves in the water distribution system at the intersection of Albion and Day Street.
Areas whose water will & may be impacted on Wednesday:
- Albion from Melrose to Franklin
- Day from Albion to Ashland
- Ashland from Melrose to Franklin
- Ellsworth from Tremont to Ashland

Areas whose water will & may be impacted on Thursday:
- Sanford from Cleveland to Whittier
- Tappan from Baxter to Maple

We advise all residents to draw a tub of water and/or fill some pots or water bottles for use during the shutdown.
You will experience periods with no water, poor pressure and possibly discoloration of the water, especially when the water is turned back on.
